Kodiak Building Partners announced the acquisition of Alpine, Wy.-based Jenkins Lumber and Hardware. Founded in 1975, Jenkins Lumber is a one-unit, pro dealer that sells lumber and building materials.

President Dave Jenkins will remain with the company after the conclusion of the deal and will be part of the ownership group of Kodiak Building Partners. Jenkins said the opportunity to join a larger organization was appealing in Kodiak’s news release.

“Jenkins Lumber and Hardware will be a valued addition to our family. Dave and his team are known for their dependability and always fulfilling promises to their customers,” Kodiak CEO Steve Swinney said in a news release. “Their culture is a perfect fit with the way that we do business, and we look forward to supporting all that they do. Further, we think the Wyoming markets that Jenkins serves will continue to remain strong to quite strong for a long time.”

Jenkins Lumber services the single-family builders and commercial contractors in Jackson, Wy., Swan Valley, Idaho, Afton, Wy., and additional markets in Star Valley. With the acquisition, Kodiak Building Partners operates 78 locations across 14 states, serving general contractors, builders, subcontractors, remodelers, and DIYers. The specialty dealer ranked 11th on the 2019 ProSales 100, generating $1.12 billion in sales in 2018.
