McCoy’s Building Supply promoted Brandon Bishop to the position of director of merchandising for commodities.

“I’m excited about developing deeper relationships with other key leaders within McCoy’s and throughout our industry in my new role,” Bishop said in a news release. “I believe our industry is built on strong relationships that come from constantly learning and moving forward.”

Bishop began his McCoy’s career in 2008 working in the lumberyard at the dealer’s Stephenville, Texas, location. The newly promoted Bishop went on to become assistant manager at the branch before moving to McCoy’s headquarters and joining the merchandising department. In the merchandising department, Bishop has held numerous roles, including forest products buyer, commodity and freight manager, and commodity program manager.

“We have so many talented people in merchandising who work collaboratively with our operations team by selecting the best products, cultivating relationships with trusted suppliers, and negotiating competitive pricing for each of the categories that we manage,” Bishop said. “Merchandising is constantly evaluating these factors for each product line to maintain our best in class service to our customers.”

San Marcos, Texas-based McCoy’s Building Supply operates more than 90 locations with full-service lumberyards in Arkansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The dealer ranked 12th on the 2020 ProSales 100 list.
