McCoy’s Building Supply will expand south of Houston in mid-2019 with a store to be built on a recently purchased 8.2-acre site in Bay City, Texas, the dealer announced Aug. 30.
“We’ve been serving the Bay City market for many years from our nearby stores in Brazoria, El Campo and Victoria,” sites that are 40 to 100 miles from Bay City, said Dan Stauffer, McCoy’s vice president of marketing and real estate. Houston is about 75 miles away. “Demand for our products and services continues to grow, and we’re excited to provide our great customers in Bay City with a location to call their own.”
McCoy’s said the store’s design will include a paved lumberyard and drive-through lumber storage area.
McCoy’s now operates 87 stores, three distribution facilities, and two millwork facilities in Texas and four other states. It ranks 13th on the current ProSales 100, with $827.8 million in sales in 2017, 70% of it to pros.
