McCoy’s Promotes Walker to SVP Level

Now in charge of ops and merchandising, he's one rung below COO

McCoy’s Building Supply, the No. 13 company on the ProSales 100, announced today it has promoted Waylon Walker to senior vice president of operations and merchandising. Previously he was VP of operations, and in his expanded role he will oversee merchandising and loss prevention along with all regional managers and the estimating and strategic accounts departments.

Walker is a 25-year veteran of the San Marcos, Texas-based dealer. He started as a management trainee and then became an assistant store manager, loss prevention team member, store manager, and regional manager before becoming a vice president. He will report to Meagan McCoy Jones, the executive vice president and chief operating officer of the 89-store, 2,400-worker company.

“Waylon is a proven, people-centered leader. He has the skill, vision and drive to help McCoy’s stay strong and growing,” said Brian McCoy, president and CEO. “His promotion is a continued part of our ongoing Next Generation plan for the future.”

McCoy’s reported totals sales of $763.62 million in 2016, 68% of it to pros.
