SRS Distribution entered the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP) program, according to a news release from the company. The program is designed to support the hiring and retention of military spouses as they relocate to new geographic locations.

As part of the partnership, SRS pledges to increase employment opportunities for military spouses that sustain a talented workforce, to provide career promotion opportunities for military spouses who are helping employers meet business goals and objectives, and to ensure pay equity for military spouses.

SRS said it believes the partnership will improve the company’s ability to hire excellent employees while bolstering efforts to support military veterans and their families.

“SRS is honored by the opportunity to enter into this partnership, which is a natural extension of our established commitment to hiring veterans,” Eric Jacobson, chief human resources officer of SRS Distribution, said in a public statement. “The skills, diversity and experience military spouses provide will bring tremendous value to our organization.”

In addition to entering the MSEP program, SRS also recently pledged to hire an additional 500 military veterans within the next five years. President and CEO Dan Tinker said the leadership, integrity, self-discipline, and high safety standards of military veterans are among the reasons they thrive at SRS branches across the United States.

SRS Distribution—a portfolio company of Leonard Green & Partners and Berkshire Partners—operates more than 270 locations across 44 states under a family of 29 distinct local brands. The distributor was ranked 7th on the 2019 ProSales 100 list, with sales in 2018 of $2.72 billion.
