Specialty building materials distributor US LBM opened a roofing and siding greenfield location in Yeadon, Pa. The new branch is the distributor’s tenth roofing- and siding-focused greenfield to open since 2018 and the fifth to open in 2020. US LBM opened a similar roofing and siding branch in Kimberton, Pa., in 2019 and plans to open an additional roofing and siding location in nearby New Castle, Del., early in 2021.
“Roofing and siding continues to be a strong specialty category for US LBM, and this new location further expands our reach and product offering in southeastern Pennsylvania and the Delaware valley,” US LBM chief development office and Universal Supply president Jeff Umosella said in a news release.
The Yeadon, Pa., branch will operate as part of US LBM’s Universal Supply division. Universal Supply has 22 locations across Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. The planned greenfield in New Castle, Del., will also operate under the Universal Supply brand name.
The greenfield opening follows a string of recent acquisitions by US LBM. The distributor acquired Ridgefield Supply Company earlier in December and acquired Zeeland Lumber, the 48th largest firm on the ProSales 100 list, in November. Last month, US LBM also signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Bain Capital Private Equity.
Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based US LBM ranked 6th on the 2020 ProSales 100 and operates more than 250 locations across the United States. The distributor offers a portfolio of specialty products, including windows, doors, millwork, wallboard, roofing, siding, engineered components, and cabinetry.
