Beacon Acquires 2-Unit Colorado Dealer

Beacon Roofing Supply, America’s third-biggest pro-oriented dealer, announced today its acquisition of ProCoat Systems, a vendor of exterior products for home and business with branches in Denver and Fort Collins, Colo.

Brothers Jim, Marty, and Randy Diner founded the company in 1984 and will continue to co-manage the business, which specializes in stucco, stone, waterproofing, and concrete restoration. The stores will retain the ProCoat Systems name, which means Beacon now will operate stoes on Colorado’s Front Range under two names: ProCoat and Roof Depot.

“Being part of the Beacon team will allow ProCoat to continue our long history of excellent customer service and to introduce our products to Beacon’s existing customer base across the entire Rocky Mountain footprint,” Jim Diner said in a statement issued by Beacon. “We were presented with many strategic opportunities, but we chose to align with Beacon not only because of its size and reputation in the industry, but because Beacon shares our belief that success comes from hard work and a commitment to your employees and customers.”

Beacon president and CEO Paul Isabella said in the same statement that the ProCoat deal “will enable Beacon to strengthen our complementary product offerings both to our customers in the Denver and the surrounding markets and elsewhere in the United States and Canada where these products are important to the commercial and residential building materials markets.”

Herndon, Va.-based Beacon ranks No. 3 on the current ProSales 100 list with sales in 2014 totaling $2.33 billion, all of it to pros. It operates 273 branches in 42 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces.
