Beacon Roofing Supply announced today it bought Acme Building Materials, a dealer in roofing, siding, windows, decking, and railing with branches in Flint, Roch/ester Hills, and Brighton, Mich.

Acme President and Co-owner Lori Tesner will remain with Beacon as it increases to 10 the number of operations it has in the state.

“Acme is a great addition to Beacon and strengthens our residential and complementary business in Michigan, which is an important market for Beacon,” Beacon CEO and President Paul Isabella said in a statement.

Beacon operates 375 branches in 47 U.S. states and six Canadian provinces. It has grown dramatically over the past two years, mainly through acquisitions. On Feb. 2, it reported that its net income nearly tripled in its fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31 to $20.4 million from $7.1 million a year earlier on record first-quarter sales of $1 billion, a 2.6% rise.
