FBM Acquires Two Locations in Texas and Ontario

Foundation Building Materials announced today the acquisition of two specialty product distributors located in Texas and in Ontario, Canada.

Both firms are independent distributors. Bryan, Texas-based MCS Door and Hardware concentrates on doors, frames, and hardware, and Del-Pro Building Supplies in Ontario sells wallboard, steel framing, and insulation. FBM expects the two acquired companies to contribute $10 million to $12 million in annual net sales beginning in 2018.

“With the closing of these transactions, FBM strengthens its wallboard market share in Canada and adds locations which complement its core product offerings,” said Ruben Mendoza, FBM’s CEO. “These two companies have a strong and successful history, largely created by the talent of their management and employees and long standing customer relationships. Senior management from the acquired companies will continue with FBM to ensure a smooth transition and quick integration.”

FBM’s most recent acquisitions took place in the summer. It purchased Virginia Builder’s Supply and Ceiling and Wall Supply in July, and American Wal-Board in August. The deals accounted for eight new locations and expansion into Virginia, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi.

The Tustin, Calif.,-based firm currently operates over 220 branches across the U.S. and Canada.
