Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the wallboard, ceiling systems, and insulation specialists, announced it acquired Builders’ Supplies Limited, a Canadian independent distributor of drywall, steel framing, and ceiling tile and grid.
Builders’ Supplies Limited operates three branches in the greater Toronto area, boosting FBM’s presence in Canada. The Tustin, Calif.-based FBM already has seven locations in Ontario, Canada.
“We are excited Builders’ will be joining the FBM network. This transaction will expand our geographic footprint into the non-residential downtown Toronto market and enhance our service capabilities to the greater Ontario province,” FBM president and CEO Ruben Mendoza said in a public statement.
FBM said it expects the Canadian distributor to be consistent with its prior years in sales, with an estimated $20 million to $24 million in net sales for the remainder of 2019. FBM operates more than 170 branches across the United States and Canada. The acquisition of Builders’ Supplies Limited is the first for FBM since it acquired New Jersey distributor Ciesco Inc. and Commercial Specialty Supply in August.
