L&W Supply grew by more than 10% in just one deal May 2 when the ABC Supply unit announced that it will acquire NexGen Building Supply, a dealer specializing in drywall, steel studs, and ceiling systems with 15 branches serving six states.
Based in Elk Grove Village, Ill., NexGen has operations in Wisconsin, llinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio. The deal is expected to close by June 20.
The deal is the third and by far biggest deal L&W has done recently. In March, L&W took over Wright Bros. Supply in California and Ace Supply in Montgomery, Ala.
L&W had been an arm of USG until ABC Supply took it over in November 2016. With NexGen’s units, L&W will operate 156 stores in 35 states.
