Metrie, the North American manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, acquired the Hemlock and Alder manufacturing and distribution business of Fred Tebb & Sons. The acquisition is the fourth by Metrie in the last two years, following the previous purchases of Tiner Wholesale and EL & EL Wood Products Corp. in 2022 and Pacific MDF Products and Canadian MDF Products in 2020.
According to Metrie, each acquisition has provided complementary and expanded services” for the company’s customers across North America.
“As well as being the largest MDF molding manufacturer and distributor in North America, Metrie also has nearly 100 years of expertise in solid wood production,” Kent Bowie, president and CEO of Metrie, said in a prepared statement. “We know quality solid wood products and services when we see them.”
Bowie said Tebb is a leader in sustainably sourced and certified Pacific Coast Hemlock and Western Red Alder molding products. The acquisition enhances Fred Tebb & Sons’ “solid wood product mix and service offering to existing and new customers.”
Vancouver, British Columbia-based Metrie’s portfolio includes six solid wood and MDF manufacturing facilities along with 26 distribution centers in the United States and Canada.
“Like Metrie, we are a fourth-generation, family-owned millwork company, with hopefully many more generations to come,” Rick Tebb, president of Fred Tebb & Sons, said. “However, now is a good time to pass on the Alder and Hemlock trim part of our business, and I am sure Metrie will continue to build on the excellent customer service and product lines we have established.”
