Roesburg Forest Products and PotlatchDeltic Corporation completed the purchase and sale of the assets of PotlatchDeltic subsidiary Del-Tin Fiber, including its medium density fiberboard (MDF) plant in El Dorado, Ark. The companies agreed to the deal in principle in December 2018. Terms of the final deal were not disclosed.

“The El Dorado MDF plant serves as the third point in Roseburg’s North American MDF manufacturing triangle and will play a key role in our continued expansion into the market,” Roseburg president and CEO Grady Mullbery said in a public statement. “El Dorado MDF is already a profitable organization, and we look forward to seeing what the plant and its employees will do with further investment under long-term ownership.”

The Arkansas MDF plant is the third such plant purchased by Roseburg Forest Products since 2015. The Springfield, Ore.-based manufacturer acquired an MDF plant in Ontario, Canada in early 2018 and another in Medford, Ore., in 2015.

PotlatchDeltic CEO Mike Covey said the sale of Del-Tin Fiber will allow the real estate trust to provide its full focus on the company’s two sawmills and 2 million acres of timberlands in Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, and Mississippi.

Privately-owned Roseburg Forest Products manufactures particleboard, medium density fiberwood, thermally fused laminates, softwood and hardwood plywood, lumber, LVL, and I-joists. The company owns and manages more than 600,000 acres of timberland in Oregon, North Carolina, and Virginia.
