SRS Distribution, the nation’s No. 8 ProSales 100 member and a big player among roofing dealers, announced today it has acquired Kohl Building Products, a dealer with eight locations in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Joint owners Tom and Deb Kearse and Kohl’s team of more than 140 people will remain on duty, SRS said in a press release. Kohl is based in Reading, Pa., and has locations in the Pennsylvania cities of Selinsgrove, Mechanicsburg, Stroudsburg, Johnstown, Bloomsburg, and York, as well as in Frederick, Md. As is keeping with SRS’ style, Kohl will keep operating under its own name.
Kohl’s website advertises that it sells roofing, siding, windows, doors, kitchen and bath products, decks and railing, and tools and equipment. It doesn’t sell lumber.
With Kohl’s eight yards, SRS now has 181 locations in 41 states. The McKinney, Texas-based firm posted $1.55 billion in revenue in 2015. On April 18, the company opened three new locations in Norfolk, Va., Charlotte, N.C., and Alpharetta, Ga.
