SRS Distribution expanded in Pennsylvania with its announcement today that it has acquired the wholesale division of Interstate Building Materials. The division will become part of Kohl Building Products, which SRS bought in April 2017.
Interstate’s wholesale distribution unit handles residential roofing, vinyl siding, windows and doors, and kitchen cabinets. It’s based in Pittston, Pa., north of Philadelphia. The division’s entire sales and operations team will remain on staff.
Interstate also makes vinyl and composite windows and doors. That business will continue as Interstate Window & Door Co. It isn’t part of today’s deal with SRS.
“We have been exploring opportunities in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market to extend the reach of the Kohl Building Products platform we acquired last year,” SRS president and CEO Dan Tinker said in a news release. “Partnering with the Interstate team will best position our sales and delivery capabilities in the region.”
SRS bills itself as the third-biggest and one of the fastest-growing roofing distributors in the U.S. Its operations fly the banners of 23 different companies in more than 225 locations across 42 states. The McKinney, Texas-based firm ranks 9th on the current ProSales 100 list, with $2.31 billion in sales in 2017, 99% of it to pros.
