SRS Distribution acquired Weatherpanel, a distributor of residential and commercial roofing, siding, windows and doors, and other related products. The deal represents the 100th acquisition completed as a company for SRS. Terms of the agreement were not publicly disclosed.

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Weatherpanel was founded in 1948 and is currently run by Frank Vacanti and Maria Wrafter. Both Vacanti and Wrafter will continue to lead the company under the Weatherpanel banner post-acquisition to ensure continuity and consistency for customers, suppliers, and employees.

“We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Frank, Maria, and the rest of the Weatherpanel team,” Dan Tinker, president and CEO of SRS Distribution, said in a news release. “The company is one of the oldest and most respected independent distributors in New York and will be a perfect complement to our B&L Wholesale Supply branches in the region.”

Vacanti said Weatherpanel has always prided itself on its reputation of taking care of its people and in SRS found a national company that shared the same values while operating like a family-owned business.

“Everyone we have interacted with at SRS throughout the process has been upbeat, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to make our people feel welcome,” Wrafter, vice president of Weatherpanel, said. “We couldn’t be happier about our decision to join SRS and are incredibly optimistic about what the future holds for all our dedicated employees.”

McKinney, Texas-based SRS Distribution is a portfolio company of Leonard Green & Partners and Berkshire Partners. SRS operates a family of distinct local brands encompassing more than 460 locations across 44 states. In July, SRS acquired three Chicago area businesses, Acorn Roofing Supply, Prairie State Exterior Products, and 55 Building Supply.
