SRS Distribution, the 8th-biggest company on the ProSales 100, announced today it has entered its 40th state by acquiring MidSouth Building Supply of Maryland, a specialty dealer serving metro markets from Washington, D.C., north to Wilmington, Del.

Founded in 1966, MidSouth has branches in Beltsville and Woodlawn, Md., as well as Wilmington. That latter office marks the 40th state in which SRS has a location. It sells windows, kitchen cabinetry, siding, and residential roofing and accessories. That’s a slight change for McKinney, Texsas-based SRS, which is known primarily as a roofing supplier.

All of MidSouth’s management team will remain at the stores, including company president John Briggs. “SRS plans to invest heavily in our business as we join forces together,” Briggs said in an SRS press release.

The addition of MidSouth means SRS now has 165 locations in 40 states operating under 17 different names. SRS is owned by Berkshire Partners LLC.
