TAL Holdings reached an agreement to acquire Bayview Building Materials of Elma, located in Elma, Wash. After a transition period, Bayview will open as part of the TAL family of brands on January 31, 2022.

Bayview Lumber Company was founded in 1964 as a full-service hardware store and lumberyard, serving builders, remodelers and DIYers. The company was purchased by Rick Bush, son of co-founder Robert Bush, in 1985 and by Rick Jensen and Jim Depretto in 2003. Jensen and Depretto expanded the operations of Bayview to include a 12,000 square foot retail showroom and a 3-acre lumber yard.

“We are honored to welcome the Bayview team to the TAL family,” Jason Blair, the recently appointed CEO of TAL Holdings, said in a news release. “Bayview is a successful business with product offerings that include a complete hardware store, large lawn and garden facility, and a rental center in addition to their full assortment of lumber and building materials.”

Blair said Bayview’s diverse product mix, market reputation, and experienced team make the company “an excellent fit for TAL.” Bayview Building Materials of Elma will continue to operate under its current brand name post-acquisition.

“Our goal has been to provide our valued customers unsurpassed value, selection, and service,” Rick Jensen, Bayview co-owner, said. “We see these same core values at TAL. We look forward to joining forces with TAL to continue our growth and gain valuable resources and opportunities.”

Vancouver, Wash.-based TAL Holdings operates 15 home improvement stores across the Pacific northwest. The company’s family of brands include Badger Building Center, Browne’s Home Center, Gerretsen Building Supply, Lake Chelan Building Supply, Marson and Marson Lumber, Mount Vernon Building Center, and Tum-A-Lum Lumber.
