U.S. Lumber Takes Over Boston Cedar

Deal expands two-step distributor up the Atlantic seaboard

U.S. Lumber group has taken a controlling interest in Boston Cedar, U.S. Lumber announced today in a press release.

Boston Cedar is based in Mansfield, Mass., and is a specialty building materials distributor for New England. Founder and principal at Boston Cedar, Rob Anker, will now be a partner at U.S. Lumber and will have a seat on its board of directors. “Boston Cedar is proud to be a part of [U.S. Lumber’s] future growth,” Anker said.

U.S. Lumber’s founder and CEO, Lawrence Newton, said he is looking forward to the reach the company will have because of its acquisition. “Boston Cedar and U.S. Lumber combined have the unique capability to serve customer and supplier partners up and down the Eastern Seaboard … from the Canadian Border to South Florida,” Newton said.
