Boise Cascade today announced an agreement to acquire the assets of Cincinnati, Ohio-based Arling Lumber, a wholesale distributor of lumber, plywood, OSB, and engineered wood products. The deal to acquire the family owned, third-generation Arling Lumber will be completed in the fourth quarter, according to a news release from the company.
Idaho-based Boise Cascade is one of North America’s largest producers of engineered wood products and plywood, according to the company, and a wholesale distributor of building products with 33 local branches.
“Arling is an exceptional supplier of many forest products,” said Nick Stokes, executive vice president, Boise Cascade. “With their experienced and knowledgeable team, they will be a great addition to our nationwide distribution network and will enhance our service capacity in the Ohio market.”
Boise Cascade has been a supplier of Arling Lumber for over 45 years, Arling Lumber president P.J. Arling said in the news release. Boise Cascade previously expanded by acquiring the assets of Medford, Ore.,-based distributor Norman Distribtion in May.
