Cameron Ashley Building Products has opened a new distribution center in Reno, Nev. The warehouse and office space will neighbor an existing J&R Products location in Reno and serve customers in Reno and neighboring markets for both deliveries and pick-up services.
Cameron Ashley acquired J&R Products in January and recently opened a distribution center in Fort Wayne, Ind., to complement J&R’s Buffet, Ind., location.
“We are excited to expand our product offering to our J&R Products customers that will help them complete more jobs,” Cameron Ashley regional vice president Aaron Davis said in a news release. “In addition to their insulation accessories and tools, our customers will now have quick access to our core insulation and drywall products.”
The distributor’s Reno facility will provide sales and inventory support for customers with a focus on insulation and drywall products. Knauf insulation and CertainTeed gypsum will serve as key suppliers at the new location.
“As a new member of the Cameron Ashley staff, I’m looking forward to getting things off the ground for customers in Reno,” said Reno distribution center manager Kevin Russell. “Combining J&R’s expertise of tools and accessories with Cameron Ashley’s expansive history with gypsum and insulation is a win-win.”
Cameron Ashley, a portfolio company of private investment firm Pacific Avenue Capital Partners, is a distributor of roofing, insulation, gypsum, and other specialty building products. South Carolina-based Cameron Ashley operates a network of more than 40 stocking distribution centers with a total storage footprint of over 4.2 million square feet in 20 states.
Under Pacific Avenue’s ownership, Cameron Ashley has completed two add-on acquisitions and has grown its network to more than 5,000 customers serviced. The company opened nine distribution centers across the United States in 2019 and opened 2020 by acquiring J&R Products, opening a distribution center in Topeka, Kansas, and opening a distribution center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
