FBM Appoints Onur Demirkaya Chief Accounting Officer

Demirkaya has worked the past six years as the dealer’s vice president of finance and accounting.

The board of directors at Foundation Building Materials (FBM) appointed Onur Demirkaya as the company’s chief accounting officer, effective May 12. Demirkaya joined the company in 2014 as vice president of finance and accounting. According to a news release, the newly appointed chief accounting officer has been “instrumental” in building the accounting and finance functions at FBM, including the implementation of scalable systems and business intelligence platforms.

Prior to joining FBM, Demirkaya served as the director of finance of the west division at Beacon Roofing Supply. Previously, Demirkaya served as the assistant comptroller for Clean Energy Fuels Corp. and an audit manager for Ernst and Young.

Tustin, Calif.-based FBM operates more than 175 branches across the United States and Canada. The company distributes wallboard, suspended ceiling systems, metal framing, and complementary products.
