To mitigate the shortage of personal protective equipment among health care professionals, Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is donating thousands of N95 face masks to local hospitals. According to a note from the dealer, the donated masks come from FBM’s inventory at branch locations.
“During these challenging times, we at FBM are taking the necessary precautions to protect and support our employees, customers, and the general public,” CEO and president Ruben Mendoza wrote. “We are thankful to be able to help and protect the medical professionals on the front lines who are working hard to keep all of us safe and healthy.”
In addition to its donation of face masks, FBM published a business update for customers. The specialty dealer stated it remains committed to operating with the “utmost concern for the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and suppliers.”
FBM will continue to operate a majority of its branch locations but said it is aware it may need to modify its operations to comply with governmental mandates, to adhere to health and safety guidelines, or to address “other business concerns.”
“Our commitment to our customers and the health and safety of our employees (including those our employees interact with on a day-to-day basis), remain the primary focus of our decision-making process,” senior vice president of sales and marketing A. Kirby Thompson wrote in a letter to customers. “Thank you for your business and understanding during these times. We wish you and your employees, and their respective families, neighbors, and friends, good health and look forward to continuing to provide you with building products and materials you need.”
Tustin, Calif.-based FBM operates more than 175 branches across the United States and Canada. The company distributes wallboard, suspended ceiling systems, metal framing, and complementary products.
