Composite decking and railing manufacturer MoistureShield expanded its sales of decking products in northern Minnesota through its partnership with BlueLinx Corporation. Building on the company’s successful partnership in Minneapolis, BlueLinx will offer the full line of MoistureShield decking products at its s Aitkin, Minn., facility in the northern part of the state.
“We’re very pleased to follow up our BlueLinx distribution in Minneapolis by expanding to the Aitkin branch,” Matthew Bruce, vice president of sales for MoistureShield, said in a news release. “MoistureShield provides BlueLinx customers with the low-maintenance and moisture-resistant deck products that can enhance any main residence or second home, ensuring the outdoor life can be enjoyed to the fullest.”
All MoistureShield decking products feature the Solid Core Difference for advanced strength and moisture resistance, and can be installed directly on the ground, in the ground, or under water. The manufacturer’s Vision product line features its DiamondDefense Coating, offering scratch, stain, and damage on impact resistance. The product line features the option of CoolDeck Technology, which MoistureShield says reduces heat absorption by up to 35% compared to traditional capped composite boards in a similar color. The company also recently introduced Elevate, an entry-level capped composite decking product.
“The durability and weather-resistance of MoistureShield is the perfect fit for our northern Minnesota dealers and their customers,” Ken Black, vice president of the western region for BlueLinx, said. “We are pleased to extend MoistureShield’s benefits to the lakes, marinas, and outdoor recreation areas in this region.”
MoistureShield is a division of Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, and its composite decking and railing products are manufactured from 95% recycled content. The manufacturer first entered a distribution agreement with BlueLinx in August 2019. At the time, BlueLinx agreed to distribute MoistureShield products from its Atlanta and Chicago distribution centers. The companies expanded their partnership into Minneapolis in August.
Marietta, Ga.-based BlueLinx has a distribution footprint serving 50 states and distributes its range of structural and specialty products to approximately 15,000 customers across the United States.
