Composite decking and railing manufacturer MoistureShield expanded its distribution partnership with BlueLinx. BlueLinx branch locations in Charlotte, N.C., Raleigh, N.C., Denville, N.J., Yaphank, N.Y., Burlington, Vt., Bellingham, Mass., and Portland, Maine, will offer the full line of MoistureShield composite decking products to dealers.
“We are excited to continue to grow our national footprint with BlueLinx with this significant expansion from North Carolina to the northeast,” Matthew Bruce, vice president of sales for MoistureShield, said in a prepared statement. “As our portfolio and brand awareness continue to increase, we believe that the partnership with BlueLinx provides an amazing platform to support growth and share gain in the composite decking category.”
All MoistureShield decking products feature the Solid Core Difference for advanced strength and moisture resistance, and can be installed directly on the ground, in the ground, or under water. The manufacturer’s Vision product line features its DiamondDefense Coating, offering scratch, stain, and damage on impact resistance. The product line features the option of CoolDeck Technology, which MoistureShield says reduces heat absorption by up to 35% compared to traditional capped composite boards in a similar color. The company also recently introduced Elevate, an entry-level capped composite decking product.
MoistureShield is a division of Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, and its composite decking and railing products are manufactured from 95% recycled content. The manufacturer first entered a distribution agreement with BlueLinx in August 2019. At the time, BlueLinx agreed to distribute MoistureShield products from its Atlanta and Chicago distribution centers.
“Following a challenging year for the building industry, demand for decking remains strong and we are excited to continue our expansion and investment in outdoor living,” Mike Wilson, senior vice president of BlueLinx, said. “MoistureShield has several unique solutions that are perfectly suited to the northeast climate, including harsh coastal weather which gives us the best opportunity to execute on our growth strategy for the category.”
Marietta, Ga.-based BlueLinx has a distribution footprint serving 50 states and distributes its range of structural and specialty products to approximately 15,000 customers across the United States.
