Composite decking and railing manufacturer MoistureShield expanded its distribution partnership with BlueLinx Corporation. BlueLinx will carry the full line of MoistureShield decking products at its Frederick, Md., facility for their dealer customers. The Frederick facility services dealers in Maryland, Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania, and northern Virginia.
“We are delighted to further our national expansion with BlueLinx,” Matthew Bruce, vice president of sales for MoistureShield, said in a news release. “With superior moisture resistance that maintains its integrity after cutting, MoistureShield offers an ideal composite decking solution for these areas with hot, humid summers and chilly winters.”
All MoistureShield decking products feature the Solid Core Difference for advanced strength and moisture resistance, and can be installed directly on the ground, in the ground, or under water. The manufacturer’s Vision product line features its DiamondDefense Coating, offering scratch, stain, and damage on impact resistance. The product line features the option of CoolDeck Technology, which MoistureShield says reduces heat absorption by up to 35% compared to traditional capped composite boards in a similar color. The company also recently introduced Elevate, an entry-level capped composite decking product.
“BlueLinx is committed to providing excellent service to our customers while providing them with innovative, durable, and weather-resistant products like MoistureShield,” Tom Ciarletta, regional vice president of the eastern region for BlueLinx, said. “Building with MoistureShield allows customers to enjoy their outdoor living spaces year-round without strenuous upkeep.”
MoistureShield is a division of Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, and its composite decking and railing products are manufactured from 95% recycled content. The manufacturer first entered a distribution agreement with BlueLinx in August 2019 and expanded its partnership with the distributor in August 2020 and twice in October 2020.
Marietta, Ga.-based BlueLinx has a distribution footprint serving 50 states and distributes its range of structural and specialty products to approximately 15,000 customers across the United States.
