SRS Distribution has acquired Barbeton, Ohio-based roofing, siding, and windows and doors distributor C.C. Supply. Additionally, the distributor announced the opening of four greenfield locations in Waldorf, Md., Rapid City, S.D., Moline, Ill., and Bridgewater, N.J.
C.C. Supply was founded in the 1970s and operates three locations in Barberton, Ohio; Akron, Ohio; and Wooster, Ohio. The company’s three co-owners, Tony Crookston, Dan Crookston, and Larry Crookston, will assist with the transition of the business, to ensure continuity and consistency for C.C. Supply’s customers, suppliers, and employees, according to a news release.
“We are honored to welcome the legendary Crookston family and the entire C.C. team to the SRS family,” SRS Distribution president and CEO Dan Tinker said in a news release. “The addition of C.C. Supply represents a strategic opportunity to expand our presence in an existing market, while gaining a news and loyal customer base. By combining the local relationships and knowledge of C.C. Supply with the resources of SRS, we will further enhance the company’s reputation for delivering outstanding customer service and provide new growth opportunities for all employees.
SRS said the four new greenfield locations will each carry a full line of residential and commercial roofing products, with a focus on servicing professional roofing contractors, remodelers, and local homebuilders. The company said the new branches represent SRS’ “continued focus on expanding the company’s footprint across the country.” The latest greenfields, a mix of “in-fill” market and new MSA locations, will allow SRS to enhance service to existing customers and provide access to new markets in Rapid City, S.D., and the Quad Cities in Illinois, according to a news release.
“Thanks to the diligent effort of our branch expansion and operations team even amongst the COVID backdrop, our capabilities to expand in strategic markets has never been greater,” Tinker said in a prepared statement. “With the addition of these new locations, SRS will continue to provide unparalleled service to our loyal customer base and enjoy even greater geographic reach in these regions. We expect to open additional new branches before the end of the year, with a full pipeline of greenfield locations already in progress for 2021.”
McKinney, Texas-based SRS Distribution is a portfolio company of Leonard Green & Partners and Berkshire Partners. The acquisition of C.C. Supply and four greenfield openings continue a steady pattern of expansion for SRS Distribution in 2020. SRS opened three greenfield locations in Mississippi, Alabama, and North Carolina in January and an additional six greenfield locations in Georgia, Texas, Colorado, Louisiana, and Michigan in July. The distributor also expanded via four acquisitions in 2020 as well, acquiring three-unit A.L.L. Roofing Materials earlier in July three-unit Gannon Roofing Supply in February, and two-unit CB Wholesale and six-unit RSI Building Products simultaneously in September . SRS operates a family of distinct family of local brands encompassing more than 390 locations across 44 states. The company ranked 7th on the 2020 ProSales 100 list.
