SRS Distribution appointed Ryan Nelson to the role of executive vice president and CFO, succeeding R. Scott Vansant. In the role, Nelson will report to president and CEO Daniel Tinker. Vansant will remain with SRS as an executive vice president.
“This move reflects the ongoing succession planning that has been underway at SRS to ensure the continuity of financial and strategic leadership through and beyond our shareholders’ investment period,” Tinker said in a news release. “I have known Ryan since 2012 when he advised SRS on its first recapitalization, and we were fortunate to have him join in 2019 as our senior vice president of M&A (mergers and acquisitions) and strategy, where he has taken us to an entirely new level.”
Prior to joining SRS in 2019, Nelson had a 20-year career in corporate development and investment banking, where he most recently served as a managing director of Harris Williams. Nelson has experience working with private and public companies on merger and acquisition and capital-raising transactions throughout his career, including experience in the building products distribution industry, according to SRS.
“Ryan brings the passion, strategic mindset, and experience to help us build a world class distribution business,” Tinker said. “This decision also paves the path for Scott to assume an important operating role, while facilitating an effective transition of responsibilities to Ryan. I can’t thank Scott enough for all he has done and continues to do for the company and our shareholders.”
