Empire Moulding & Millwork, a Novo Building Products company, signed a lease for a new distribution center in Amherst, N.H. The 217,000-square-foot facility will host more than 2,500 SKUs of product to support the needs of independent lumberyards, millwork specialty shops, stair parts providers, door shops, pro dealers, and home centers across New England and eastern New York. Empire said the facility will open in the fourth quarter of 2021.
“This strategic growth step positions Empire to more fully support our northeastern customers with a wide breadth of products,” Jeff Leys, president and COO of Novo Building Products, said in a news release. “We are responding to marketplace needs for an additional Empire distribution center that increases our product offering while continuing to provide very specific products desired in this region of the country.”
The Amherst facility will distribute a variety of products, including stair parts, MDF, hardwood and polyurethane mouldings and boards, and finger jointed mouldings and glued boards. The facility will stock products from L.J. Smith Stair Systems, Ornamental Decorative Millwork, and Turncraft Columns, as well as regionally specific moulding profiles and materials.
“We’ve been exploring expansion options for Empire for more than a year in order to better respond to the demand coming from the New England marketplace,” Leys said. “We’re excited to increase our company’s capabilities while serving our customers and bringing new employment opportunities to people in the Amherst area.”
