Freedonia Predicts Significant Slowdown for Demand in Wood Trim

The firm says demand will be 3.7% through 2022 -- the slowest of any material.

Demand for wood moulding and trim is projected to reach $5.5 billion by 2022 according to a new Freedonia forecast.

The Cleveland-based research firm says demand will grow 3.7% through 2022, making it the slowest growth rate for any material type. Meanwhile, engineered wood and plastic are predicted to keep growing in popularity.

Though growth is slowing, wood is still expected to account for more than half of moulding and trim sales in 2022. Demand for wood will be heavily driven by interior moulding.

Freedonia’s report, Moulding and Trim in the U.S. by Material, Product, Market and Region is available for purchase for $5,300.
