After a slight improvement in November, consumer confidence fell in December, marking the fourth time in five months the metric has decreased. The Consumer Confidence Index, reported by the Conference Board, fell 0.3 points to 126.5 in December, as households are less optimistic about future employment and income. The share of respondents who rated business conditions as “good” remained virtually unchanged at 38.7%, according to the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Eye on Housing blog.
