Kenora Forest Products’ Parent Company Files for Bankruptcy

Prendiville Industries is looking to sell its Kenora, Ontario sawmill.

Prendiville Industries, the parent of Canadian lumber producer Kenora Forest Products, has filed for bankruptcy and is seeking to sell its Kenora Forest mill by April, according to the CBC. Kenora curtailed operations in September, citing international lumber market weakness and softwood lumber duties, laying off more than 100 workers. Prendiville Industries purchased the mill in 1994 and operated for 14 years at full production. The mill was curtailed in 2008, then re-started in 2015.
