Building materials and specialty products distributor L&W Supply acquired the assets of Homes Drywall Supply. Holmes Drywall Supply operates locations in Kansas City, Mo., Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Topeka, Kansas, and distributes drywall, metal studs, insulation, and acoustical ceiling products to commercial and residential contractors.
“This acquisition allows L&W Supply to enhance our service to commercial customers and build deeper relationships with contractors and residential builders in the Kansas City and Topeka areas,” Curt Jenkins, vice president of L&W Supply’s central region, said in a news release. “We are excited to welcome the Holmes associates to the L&W Supply family. Their commitment to customers over the past 54 years has made them a leader in the market.”
L&W said the acquisition of Holmes will increase its team of experienced associates and strengthen its presence in eastern Kansas. L&W Supply now operates three locations in the Kansas City and Topeka markets. The Holmes associates will continue to work at the locations, ensuring customers receive seamless access to the products and expertise they need, according to the distributor.
Chicago-based L&W Supply, a unit of ABC Supply, operates approximately 200 locations in 38 states. The company recently made an agreement to purchase Eastern U.S. Gypsum Distribution Operations from Builders FirstSource and completed the acquisitions of DAICO Supply and G. Proulx Building Materials. The specialty distributor also recently opened branches in Beltsville, Md., New Castle, Del., Bedford Heights, Ohio, and West Palm Beach, Fla.
