Building products manufacturer LP Building Solutions broke ground on a new LP SmartSide ExpertFinish facility on 75 acres in the Town of Bath, N.Y. The facility, scheduled to be operational by the third quarter of 2023, is LP’s first facility in the New York market. The Town of Bath facility represents LP’s 12th siding facility and 26th manufacturing site in North and South America.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this historic day as we break ground on our first facility in the state of New York,” LP vice president of siding manufacturing Tony Hamill said at the ground breaking ceremony. “To support strong customer demand for our products and expand our presence in the Northeast, we are excited to increase our ExpertFinish production capacity when this new facility is operational.”
LP said the new facility will be designed for future expansions and joins LP’s three existing siding pre-finishing facilities: LP Roaring River, LP Green Bay, and LP St. Louis. The manufacturer said the southern tier region of New York is suited for ExpertFinish production due to its proximity to the new construction and repair and remodeling home siding markets in the Northeastern United States. The manufacturer will receive its exterior home siding product at the facility via rail from its production mills and the material will then be painted, packaged, and distributed via LP’s existing network throughout the Northeast.
ExpertFinish complements LP’s SmartSide Trim and Siding portfolio and is available in an array of tailored colors. The prefinished siding product is durable due to a factory finish with acrylic latex paint, according to LP.
