Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, announced plans to establish operations in Fairfield County, S.C., according to the South Carolina Department of Commerce. The $25 million investment by Oldcastle APG is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs in the area.
The facility, which will be located in Ridgeway, S.C., will represent Oldcastle APG’s fifth South Carolina location. The new operation will increase the manufacturer’s hardscapes production capabilities in the Carolinas, an area of increasing customer demand and significant investment for Oldcastle APG. The Ridgeway facility will produce the Belgard hardscapes product line, as well as service a variety of professional and retail customers.
“As business continues to expand for Oldcastle APG around the globe and particularly in the Southeast, we are prepared to meet customer demand with strategic investments in our manufacturing facilities,” Oldcastle APG president Tim Ortman said in a prepared statement. “As the leading provider of outdoor living and building materials in our industry, we look forward to strengthening our footprint with a fourth manufacturing facility in South Carolina.”
Oldcastle APG is a provider of outdoor living and building materials, with its product offerings including concrete masonry, hardscapes, bagged dry mixes, lawn and garden, and composite decking. The company’s portfolio includes Sakrete concrete mixes, Amerimix mortars, and Belgard hardscapes. In the summer, Oldcastle APG acquired B&B Bedding, a manufacturer of lawn and garden products. The acquisition was the manufacturer’s fifth acquisition of a company in the landscape materials and concrete products categories in 2020.
