Devin Stockfish will become president and CEO of Weyerhaeuser effect Jan. 1 upon the retirement of Doyle Simons, while Keith O’Rear will become senior vice president of wood products, the company announced Aug. 27.
The succession plan also calls for Simons to serve as a senior adviser through April 1, 2019, to help assure a smooth transition. And one level down the organizational pyramid, Adrian Blocker will become senior vice president of timberlands, succeeding Stockfish.
Blocker had been head of the wood products business. O’Rear, his successor, currently runs the company’s wood products sales and marketing organization.
“Devin is the right leader to take this company to the next level,” Rick R. Holley, chairman of the Weyerhaeuser board, said in a news release. “Devin has a proven ability to achieve results and an impressive breadth of experience that spans various industries.”
Stockfish is an attorney as well as an engineer who has been SVP for timberlands since Jan. 1, 2018. O’Rear became the wood products sales and marketing chief that same day after having been VP of wood products manufacturing for the company’s Mid-South region from 2014 to 2017 and the timberlands chief in Oklahoma and Arkansas in 2013 and 2014.
