Composite decking and railing manufacturer MoistureShield named Matt Bruce as the company’s vice president of sales. In the role, Bruce will lead and direct MoistureShield’s overall sales strategy following the company’s acquisition by Oldcastle APG in 2017.

Bruce joins the company from Royal Building Products, based in Ontario, Canada. He has over two decades of building materials management, operations, and sales experience, according to MoistureShield. Bruce has previously served as the president of the Northeastern Young Lumber Executives and the Massachusetts Retail Lumber Dealers Association and as a member of the board of directors for the Northeast Retail Lumber Association.

“We welcome Matt to Oldcastle APG and look forward to his success in this critical role,” Ken O’Neill, executive vice president of National Group for Oldcastle APG, said in a news release. “MoistureShield is gaining momentum in the composite decking market. We are confident Matt will lead with fresh ideas and a new perspective to carry that momentum forward.”

Bruce’s hiring comes as MoistureShield is refreshing its marketing, expanding its distribution, and introducing new products and technology, according to the company. MoistureShield has recently entered distribution partnerships with BlueLinx Holdings, Seven D Wholesale, Cardinal Building Products, and Mid-State Lumber.

MoistureShield is a division of Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, and its composite decking and railing products are manufactured from 95% recycled content.
