  • SRS Distribution bought Crown C Supply, a dealer in St. Louis specializing in roofing, siding, windows, and doors. Story

  • Caldwell Lumber, Columbus, Wis., plans to close on Aug. 31. Story
  • Lowe’s plans to close all 99 of its Orchard Supply Hardware stores. They are in California, Oregon, and Florida. Story
  • Harris Ace Hardware plans to open a location in Brunswick, Ga., in early 2019. It has three other stores in Jesup, Eulonia, and Hinesville, Ga.
  • Ferguson acquired plumbing distributor Jones Stephens. The company will continue operating under its name and with current leadership. It has facilities in Moody, Ala.; Pottsville, Pa.; and Southern California.

  • Builders FirstSource opened a showroom and sales office in Halfmoon, N.Y., north of Albany. Story
  • ABC Supply has signed a long-term lease to take over a facility in Sennett, N.Y., that 84 Lumber occupied until 2015. ABC Supply’s nearest location to this new facility is 19 miles away. Story

  • L&W Supply, a unit of ABC Supply, bought Rose & Walker Supply, a five-unit dealer based in Columbus, Ind. Story
  • Marvin’s Building Materials has moved its Cullman, Ala., store to a new location.
  • An unnamed hardware store and lumberyard in suburbs of a New Mexico city has put itself up for sales. It posted $1.2 million in revenue and is selling itself for $1.5 million. That price includes roughly $500,000 worth of inventory. Details
  • An unnamed building material distributor in the Mid-Atlantic is up for sales. It says it took in $9.7 million last year, of which $1.9 million was in foam insulation. No sales price was disclosed. Details

  • Crossroads Building Supply, a specialty dealer, acquired Midwestern Building Supply, a full-service dealer with stores in Macomb, Galesburg, and Tremont, Ill. Story
  • Hancock Lumber plans to open Home Again kitchen and bath showrooms later this year at its Windham and Yarmouth, Maine, locations. Announcement

  • Beacon Roofing Supply closed a location in Johnson City, Tenn. on April 30.
  • SRS Distribution closed a location in Piney Flats, Tenn. on June 30.
  • L&W Supply has leased a 5.77-acre parcel in Cheektowaga, N.Y. A 45,000-square-foot facility will be built at the site, enabling L&W to move from a current 26,000-square-foot store elsewhere in Cheektowaga. Story

  • ABC Supply won approval of its bid to purchase six acres in the Belton, Texas, Business Park. Story
  • Three and a half years after a devastating fire, the Northeast Building Supply branch in Cornwall Bridge, Conn., plans to hold a grand re-opening on July 7.

July 2:

  • A new company, Elco Building Supply, plans to hold its grand opening in Roswell, N.M., on Aug. 1. The store will focus on low-slope and specialty roofing, concrete accessories, and commercial construction. Much of its team was at Builders Do it Center in Rosewell before that store was sold to Foxworth-Galbraith.
  • ABC Supply has opened a new branch in the Seattle area, in Port Orchard, Wash. It’s the dealer’s seventh location in Washington state. Announcement
