  • USA Today Sports launched the 2023 US LBM Coaches Poll in conjunction with the American Football Coaches Association. The poll will be sponsored through the 2026 football season by US LBM.
  • LP Building Solutions pledged to support the Manufacturing Institute’s “35×30” initiative. The effort is looking to add half a million women to the industry, which would increase female representation to 35% from 29%.
  • Mid-America Lumbermens Association has merged with Northwestern Lumber Association to create a building material trade association covering dealers and suppliers in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and upper Michigan.
  • Modern Mill announced a partnership with OrePac Building Products.
  • SRS Distribution expanded its partnership with Texas A&M to include a Name, Image, and Likeness Deal with starting quarterback Conner Weigman.

  • Fastenal Company entered a scrap supply agreement with Trex Company. Through the partnership, Fastenal is collecting used PE film in its distribution centers, branches, and customer-specific onsite locations and shipping it to Trex to use the material in the manufacture of Trex’s composite decking products.
  • Top Rail Fence opened a location in Houston.Northern Tool + Equipment opened its third retail location in Austin.
  • Belco Forest Products is expanding its headquarters facility and enhancing its operations ahead of the company’s 45th anniversary.
  • Metrie, a manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, is building a manufacturing facility in Woodbridge, Ontario, in the Toronto market.

  • Top Rail Fence opened a Utah branch with a location in the Wasatch Front corridor.
  • Investment company Rival Holdings launched operations, combining Ambassador Supply and VIA Developments under one umbrella.

  • Fortress Building Products entered a distribution partnership with Carolina Atlantic.
  • ECI Software Solutions launched Sprurce eCommerce. Metrie, a manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, added a new retail distribution center in Louisville, Ky.
  • Better Doors and Windows and Compose Build announced their merger, which forms a vertically-integrated supply chain for the door manufacturing and construction landscape in Texas.
  • Ceiling and wall systems manufacturer Armstrong World Industries acquired BOK Modern.

  • Sunbelt Forest Products added Deckorators composite decking, railing, and accessories to its product portfolio.
  • DSI’s Westbury railing will be marketed and distributed in the Northwest through a partnership with Alexandria Moulding.
  • Snavely Forest Products, bolstered its product offering in the Texas market with the addition of UFP-Edge, a wood siding, pattern, and trim product manufacturer.

  • Mead Lumber launched a rebranding initiative, which includes a new logo, a new website, and a new web address. Some locations will also change their name to Mead Lumber, while others will keep their name but will follow the new logo and design scheme.
  • Kolbe Windows & Doors is expanding its manufacturing capabilities with a 27,000-square-foot facility in Phoenix, Ariz.
  • Gillfor Distribution has partnered with Tando Composites to distribute Beach House Shake and TandoStone from their 14 distribution locations.
  • James Hardie launched Hardie Honors, a product rebate program for first responders in the United States and Canada.
  • Beacon reached an agreement with Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) to repurchase all of the outstanding shares of its Series A Cumulative Convertible Participating Preferred Stock held by CD&R’s affiliate.

  • Vista Railing Systems is expanding its distribution network with the addition of Carolina Atlantic Forest Products in northern Georgia.
  • Ace Hardware Corporation announced plans to open a new retail support center located in Kansas City, Mo.
  • LP Building Solutions announced the grand opening of the LP Innovation Center in Minnesota. 84 Lumber, Installed Building Products, Beacon Sales Acquisition, L&W Supply, and SRS Distribution were among the companies recognized with a National Preferred Partner Award by David Weekley Homes.
