Lumber and forest products producer Roseburg named Tony Ramm as senior vice president of human resources and labor. Ramm will now oversee the Springfield, Ore.-based company’s human resources, benefits, and compensation, recruitment, and environmental health and safety teams.
He first joined Roseburg in May 2014 as a plant manager at the company’s plywood mill in Riddle, Ore. Ramm served in the plant manager role for four years before he was named general manager of plywood for Roseburg.
In 2019, Ramm was promoted to the position of director of manufacturing and was named director of strategic improvement three years later, leading special projects within operations and procurement. Roseburg said Ramm has served in the role of vice president of human resources since June.
“Tony’s deep experience in the day-to-day realities of wood products manufacturing adds a new dimension to human resources leadership here at Roseburg,” Roseburg president and CEO Stuart Gray said. “During his operations leadership, he demonstrated a unique ability to develop teams and individuals, drive sustainable culture improvements, and deliver results through empowering team members. We look forward to his expanded influence and impact on the business in this role and know he will continue to build upon the well-established foundation of our culture.”
Ramm succeeds Kellye Wise in the new role. Wise will move into an executive advisor role until his retirement on July 5, 2024.
“When Kellye joined Roseburg in October 2012, the company was entering a period of dynamic change and growth,” Gray said. “Kellye was an integral part of leading that change and the transformation of our culture. He led the development of professional world-class HR and EHS teams that will have long-lasting impact on the company. I am grateful for his ongoing collaboration in this new executive advisor role.”
Oregon-based Roseburg produces a variety of forest products including lumber, plywood, engineered wood products, particleboard, and medium density fiberboard.
