Tum-A-Lum Lumber hosted a grand opening for its newly redesigned store in Pendleton, Ore. The new store has 11,300 square feet of retail space, compared to the old store’s 2,000 square feet. The redesigned Pendleton location sits on a 4-acre lot, with 3.5 acres of paved space for the new lumber yard.
“We appreciate the decades of support and are thrilled to celebrate our flagship store with the city of Pendleton,” Jason Blair, CEO of parent company TAL Holdings, said in a news release. “The new store will enhance their community and serve the surrounding area for many years to come.”
The new store offers a full-line hardware store that includes a design center with cabinets, countertops, doors, and windows. The Pendleton store also features a lawn and garden care center with a full nursery outside.
As part of the redesign of the 96-year-old store, Tum-A-Lum partnered with Bouten Construction, Graham Baba Architects, and many local subcontractors to create a modern building materials center that can serve as a one-stop-shop for the community, according to the company. The new store showcases historic pieces, including a large graphic of the old store on the back wall. According to Tum-A-Lum, the store’s old wooden logo will be taken apart, refinished, and reinstalled at the new store.
