Versatex opened a 96,500-square-foot manufacturing facility in Beaver County, Pa., doubling the company’s production capacity. The company said the decision to build the facility was motivated by the steady growth for Versatex’s premium cellular core PVC building products, which now includes XCEED Lap Siding.
“We were determined to get into siding, and we were determined to do it right. That took a large scale commitment. The result is Aliquippa Two, named after the historical industrial town we call home,” said Versaext sales and marketing vice president Rick Kapres.
The new facility is a few hundred yards away from the 2008-built Aliquippa One plant. Both stand on reclaimed industrial land once occupied by a steelmaking operation.
“Consequently, our builders, architects, fabricators, and homeowners across the U.S. will get their hands on later this year. It’s yet another residential exterior breakthrough, crafted from premium cellular PVC by Versatex,” said operations vice president Josh Pace.
XCEED is offered in ten UV-resistant colors to bring customers the curb appeal and low maintenance associated with the original Versatex trim product lines, according to Pace.
“The take-away is that premium cellular PVC is no longer just for trim,” Pace said. “We deliver a complete exterior portfolio. It will let you envelope an entire home in the proven protection and lasting beauty of Versatex.”
The new plant will also expand Versatex’s capacity for specialty products like the woodgrain WP4 Canvas Series; Stealth trimboards; and Versawrap column wraps.
