WCLBMA Asks for Donations to Help in Wildfire Relief

30 to 50 members have lost homes in the recent California wildfires

The West Coast Lumber & Building Material Association (WCLMBA) is putting out a call to help in rebuilding efforts for areas of California affected by the wildfires that have recently burned across several counties in the northern part of the state.

Ken Dunham, executive director of the WCLMBA, sent a message to members asking for donations for the campaign “Lumber Helping Lumber.”

“Food, temporary housing, basic necessities of life – anything to take some pressure off in this time of need. That’s what the funds will be used for” said Dunham. “We’re keeping it simple. We’re working with the management of our lumber and building materials members to determine which of their employees need extra help now.”

Already, Sherwood Lumber has donated $5,000 to the cause. According to Dunham, about “30 to 50 lumber-affiliated people lost homes are suffered significant damage.”

The association asks that checks be sent directly to the WCLMBA headquarters in Folsom, Calif.
