Demand nationwide for decking will rebound through 2018, rising 2.4% annually to reach 3.5 billion feet and be worth $6.5 billion, the Freedonia Group forecast today. That’s a rebound from the 2008-2013 period, when demand declined 0.9%, the Cleveland-based research group said.

The residential market, which accounts for 60% of total demand, will see growth of 2.7% per year, it said.The group’s forecasts are part of a 386-page report which it is selling for $5,500.
