A rise in structural lumber prices also has decreased the price spread between solid-sawn and I-joists, adding to the sales momentum. “Boise partnering with us is pretty timely because builders are fed up with the problems with solid-sawn lumber,” Sandquist says. “The more EWP is used, the more [builders] will see the benefits. Anytime you can reduce their problems and they see that benefit, then you have a product that they will buy.”
