A West Coast-based group that promotes LBM product sales to Asia is inviting manufacturers and suppliers to take part in a trade mission to Japan this coming Oct. 9-13.

The mission organized by the Evergreen Building Products Association, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Commerce, the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, and the State of Washington. It will include stops in Kanazawa, Nagoya, and Osaka. The mission will have a group booth and conduct seminars at the Osaka Living & Design Show, as well as conduct seminars in the other cities where they’ll showcase U.S. building materials, designs, and technologies.

Each seminar will include tabletop displays where participating companies can show off their products. There also will be receptions after each seminar.

Kanazawa, Osaka, and Nagoya have a combined population of nearly 6.3 million. Their prefectures had more than 139,000 housing starts in 2016.

Interested companies must register by Aug. 4. Details are at http://www.ep.org/en/programs/japan_events/511. Past missions have produced 280 seminars to more than 6,700 Japanese attendees, leading to more than $200 million in sales of U.S. building materials.
